PUPILS at a Winsford preschool joined thousands of chatterboxes across the UK in raising money for children who struggle to communicate.

Every February groups around the UK take part in the Chatterbox Challenge to raise money to help the one million children nationwide across the UK who struggle with their speech and language.

Children at Acorns Preschool in Oak View Academy took part in the Chatterbox Challenge to support the children’s charity I CAN, with this year’s theme being ‘Garden Adventures with Ben and Holly’.

Acorns Teacher Charlotte Alford, said: “We decided as a class to learn lots of traditional, and not so traditional, nursery rhymes and asked our parents to sponsor the children in a range of fun activities associated with the rhymes.

“The Preschool was scattered with little elves and fairies. From decorating Ben elf hats, making little duck masks, planting our own indoor garden, building the Little Castle, dressing for the wintry weather and enjoying an outdoor adventure of our own – there was so much to do.

“The grand finale of our Chatterbox Challenge week was a very Royal Fairy Picnic, complete with magic jelly.

“I would like to say a big thank you to our supportive parents and well done to the children for completing so many tasks in a very busy week.”
