RESIDENTS are being warned to be vigilant of door knockers after a man falsely claimed to be from the RSCA in Winsford.

The incident happened on Sunday, April 24, around 8.50pm in Saunton Close, Winsford.

Police received reports that a man knocked at the address and said he was from the RSPCA before briefly showing a badge.

He did not go to any other houses on the estate.

The man is described as 5ft 6, with red/ginger hair, and a blue hi viz jacket with RSPCA on the front.

The man was reportedly stuttering and appeared very nervous.

Police officers were notified and attended the area but the man had already left.
