THE Fringe Festival returns to Winsford for its fifth year this weekend.

More than 100 local performers will take to one of the Winsford's Waterside Festival's three stages over the weekend.

Based on the Winsford Marina and Island, Saturday, May 23 will see the family festival from midday until 8.00pm.

The second annual Winsford Music Festival will take place on Sunday, May 24, from midday until 8.00pm.

The main stage on Saturday features the very best of Winsford's acoustic talent, as well as The Red Head Band who will perform and back some of the town's finest singers.

Winsford Academy students are filling two stages between midday and 3.00pm on Saturday, before Mid Cheshire College students take over a stage between 3.00pm and 8.00pm.

There will be plenty to do at the two-day festival, including circus skills, arts and crafts workshops, an open mic stage, kids funfair rides, inflatables, trampolining and upright water boarding.

Organiser, Damon Horrill, said: "We want the festival to reflect the positive things about where we live.

"The fact that there are so many talented musicians, singers, artists, and makers in the town is great to see, as is the beautiful backdrop that leads to the flashes.

"You can't help but feel proud about where you live."
