A RESIDENTIAL development in Winsford has been named after the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s royal baby.

David Wilson Homes North West, started work on the site, located on Townsfield Road, on May 2, the day Kate Middleton and Prince William welcomed their new daughter into the world.

And in honour of the new royal princess the team agreed to name the development after Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.

Steve Jackson, sales director at David Wilson Homes North West, said: “The team at David Wilson Homes is happy to announce the name of the new development in honour of the nation’s newest sweetheart.

“The development will appeal to a number of home owners as there is something for everyone on this site, bringing beautifully crafted four and five bedroom family homes to the area with plenty of space for your own new additions to the family.”

The 16-acre site is has planning consent secured for a total of 164 properties. Approximately 30 per cent of these will go towards providing affordable housing.

The first phase in Winsford will comprise of three and four bedroom homes.

In addition to the development itself the homebuilder will be completing a number of other projects in the town.

These include road improvements to Townfield Road, Swanlow Avenue and The Drumber and improvements to local transport access, with new bus shelters on Jack Lane and Main Road.
