COLLEAGUES will join forces to take on the Winsford 10k on Sunday to raise money for their managing director’s daughter who died of a heart attack.

Compass Minerals UK (CMP UK) has seen almost 50 members of staff sign up for the Winsford 10k, which takes place on Sunday, October 4.

The team are aiming to raise £5,000 from the race for the charity C-R-Y in memory of Emily Rose Dunn, who passed away in July from an unexpected heart attack aged 23.

C-R-Y supports young people diagnosed with potentially life-threatening cardiac conditions and provides bereavement support for families affected by Young Cardiac Sudden Death (YCSD).

Every week in the UK at least 12 young people die of undiagnosed heart conditions.

Emily, who was the daughter of Gordon Dunn, CMP UK’s managing director, was working in Africa for British Airways when she died.

Along with her father, she was a member of the CMP UK team who ran in the Manchester 10k in 2014.

CMP UK now has 46 members who will run and walk the route, which starts and finishes at the Winsford Salt Mine.

A number of employees and retired employees have joined the team of volunteers to help on the day.
