A KIND-HEARTED Winsford youngster chose to celebrate his seventh birthday at a St Luke’s Hospice coffee shop.

Zachariah Johnson chose to host his party with family and friends at the St Luke’s Hospice’s Interiors Furnishings and Coffee Shop on Delamere Street, which helps to raise funds for the hospice.

The Hospice needs to raise £8,600 a day to run all of its services. Care is provided free to patients and their families who need St Luke’s across mid and south Cheshire.

Zachariah’s mum, Joanne Johnson, said: “When I asked Zachariah what he wanted to do for his birthday, he jumped at the idea of having his party at St Luke’s Interiors coffee shop, which is best known as his special place.

"We visit Interiors on a regular basis and Zachariah loves talking to the volunteers about his day and chatting about his latest fishing adventure.”

Zachariah, a Whitegate Primary School pupil, was overjoyed with presents and tucked into his birthday cake shaped as Despicable Me character ‘Minion’, which was made by his dad Ian.

Carole Heath, Interiors shop manager, said: “It was an absolute pleasure to see how happy Zachariah was on the day surrounded by the people who love him.

“It’s fantastic to see young supporters such as him so actively involved with the Hospice, and from everyone at St Luke’s we’d like to say ‘Happy Birthday Zachariah’.”
