RESIDENTS of retirement development, Hazelmere, in Winsford, dyed their hair multi-coloured to join the fight against dementia and raised £450 for Alzheimer’s Society.
On Friday, May 20, Hazelmere residents, family, friends and staff hosted a fundraising afternoon to raise money for one of their chosen charities of the year - Alzheimer’s Society.
To help raise money, three residents, Janet Hitchen, Julia Reece, and Julie Usher, volunteered to get their hair dyed multi-coloured by Tanglez Salon – the on-site hairdressers.
Jane Langley, RLS scheme manager for Hazelmere, said: “It was one of the best days ever – and a great opportunity for everyone at Hazelmere to join together for a very worthy cause and have a fabulous time.”
There was also a bake sale organised and baked by the residents, a karaoke night, an ice-bucket challenge, and a sponsored Dame for a Day by resident Rob Hitchen.
