WINSFORD MP Antoinette Sandbach has welcomed the appointment of Theresa May as the country’s new prime minister today.
Theresa May took her post at 10 Downing Street today, taking over from David Cameron, who resigned following the result of the EU referendum.
Antoinette, Conservative MP for Eddisbury, says she is delighted with the appointment and believes the new prime minister will ensure the government will act “in the interests of all and not the privileged few”.
Antoinette said: “I am delighted that the Conservatives have selected Theresa May as our future prime minister.
“I am confident that she will deliver on her promise to make sure that her government is one that acts in the interests of all and not the privileged few.
“Theresa May is the longest serving home secretary since Victorian times, and has shown that she has the skills, character and the judgement to lead the UK at the time when as a country we will be negotiating Brexit and to navigate some of the choppy waters we may have during this period.”
