MANCHESTER City fans are being invited to have their picture taken with the Capital One Cup the club won in February.

The trophy will be on display on Thursday, August 25, at The Old Star pub in Winsford.

The trophy is being loaned for the evening by Manchester City to the Mid Cheshire branch of the Manchester City FC Supporters Club.

The Old Star in Swanlow Lane is one of the venues where the branch holds its monthly meetings.

Manchester City won the Capital One Cup at Wembley in February when they beat Liverpool on penalties.

The trophy will be on show from 7.15pm, and the branch meeting will be held from 8pm.

“We are really pleased we have been loaned the trophy for the evening, and it’s a great opportunity for families to come along and have their picture taken with it,” said branch secretary Alan Oakes.

The evening is open to members and non-members, and there is no charge to have your picture taken with the cup.

Joining the branch costs £10 for an adult for the year, £2 for pensioners and membership is free for under 16s.

The branch is to support St Luke’s Hospice for the next 12 months through raffles and other fundraising events.

A representative from the hospice is due to attend the meeting at The Old Star to talk about the work of the organisation.
