TEAMS of firefighters tackled two separate straw fires in the Meadowbank area of Winsford yesterday.
Fire engines from Winsford and Northwich were called to the first fire in Meadowbank Grove at 4.42pm.
Crews found that a bailing machine in a field was on fire and had spread to approximately 100sq m of straw and several bales of hay.
Firefighters used two hose reel jets to tackle the fire.
Firefighters were then called out to School Road in Meadowbank during the night at 12.34am to attend to another straw fire.
The fire involved a small amount of straw and the crew extinguished it with water.
