FLORISTS from Morrisons in Winsford are leaving colourful summer posies in locations around the town for people to pick up and take home.

After a spell of changeable summer holiday weather, Morrisons Winsford florists are hoping that the jolly posies will help brighten up Winsford’s Bank Holiday weekend.

The posies are being placed in parks, bus stops and shopping areas on Thursday for passers-by to pick up. They are made from multi-coloured Germini, which look like big, brightly coloured summer daisies.

Andrew Whelan, Morrisons Winsford store manager, said: "Our florists know how changeable the weather has been this summer and wanted to cheer everyone up. We hope that people who find these brightly-coloured posies across Winsford will pick them up, take them home, and enjoy having their little splash of warming colour in their house.”

Morrisons makes 22 million bouquets a year using nearly 250 million stems at its own Flower World site which spans 17.5 acres and employs over 260 fully trained florists.
