A 20-YEAR-OLD man from Winsford who has terrorised the town for years has been slapped with an extensive criminal behaviour order.
Ashley O’Dowd, 20, of Ways Green, appeared at Crewe Magistrates Court on Friday, September 9, after committing a series of public order offences in and around Winsford town centre.
O’Dowd’s repeated behaviour was described by magistrates as ‘disgusting and disgraceful’ and he was given a criminal behaviour order lasting for two years.
The order prohibits O’Dowd from entering Winsford Cross Shopping Centre and Asda without a family member or entering Wharton Estate.
He is also prohibited from using foul language in public, threatening any person or inciting others to engage in violence or damage to property, contacting Francesca Jones and Stephanie Bishop, or be in the company of Callum Thomson, Tommy Felton and Liam Simpson.
Insp Dave Snasdell, from Cheshire Police, said: “This is an excellent result and shows that we are determined to use whatever legislation we can in order to protect our community from individuals who continue to terrorise local residents.
“The magistrates in summing up were clear in their views about the behaviour that O’Dowd had subjected the community to over a period of time.
“As the police we have a wide package of measures available to us and we will ensure these are used where appropriate in our effort to make the area a pleasant and enjoyable place to live and work.”
