A WINE bar and coffee lounge that strives to offer something unique in Northwich is hosting a ‘relaunch spectacular’ this weekend.

The team at Grape and Bean, which overlooks Apple Market Place, have been listening to customer feedback, and now have some big changes to unveil to patrons old and new.

The fully independent venue first opened in July 2021 as a combined café and bar, but their new strategy means they plan to focus on the night time side of the business.

Co-owner Pete Leigh, who started the business with six friends he met doing charity work with Northwich Round Table, is keen to highlight how Grape and Bean makes a unique contribution to Northwich’s bar scene.

Pete said: “We’ve been paying close attention to what customer have been telling us, and we’ve been putting it all in place over the last few months. We’re really upping our game.”

“If you were in here a year ago and it was a little bit quiet, or it didn’t seem like there was very much going on, now's the time to give us another go.

“We’ve made some big changes. We’ve changed the interior, including new furniture, and generally the whole atmosphere is different now.

“There are five new draft beers, including Beavertown Neck Oil and Gamma Ray, and we’ve teamed up with a really fine wine merchant.

"We sat down with him over summer and tasted I don’t know how many wines, and we’re now offering a great range by the bottle and the glass. You’re not going to find any better in the area in that price range.

“We’ve also put together an exciting new cocktail menu, and we're doing live music from local artists on Saturday nights.”

Pete and the team's aim is to create comfortable spot right in the town centre where everyone is welcome to hang-out with friends, or just sit and watch the world go by.

He added: “We going to be having live music on Saturday nights from local artists like The Adam and Joe Show.

“The Northwich Ukelele Club meet here every Thursday too. We’re their home now, and everyone is welcome to come along.”

The 'relaunch spectacular' takes place on Saturday (February 4).
