HARTFORD Tennis Club enjoyed success across all disciplines in the South and Mid Cheshire League over the past seven days.

The men’s E team, newly-promoted to Division Two, scored a big victory against Congleton C with Andy Yearsley, Dave Smith, Chris Bott and Chris Forrest picking up five of eight sets played at Chester Road.

The men’s G side, in their maiden season, won 7-1 against Goostrey B with the first pair losing only four games in as many sets.

In the ladies’ top flight, Hartford A whitewashed Holmes Chapel B, with Katie Burrows and Di Fielding winning every game.

Hartford C drew with a strong Alsager A side in Division Two, while D team lead the way in Division Three after a 6½- 1½ win over hosts Goostrey A.

Hartford’s mixed B defeated neighbours Cuddington C by the same score on Sunday, bolstered by a strong performance from Andy White in his first match.

Winsford men’s A made it back-to-back wins after beating Hightown A, with Chris Knight, Alex Lerczak, Chris Mayoh and Mark Garratt on court for a 5-3 success.

Winsford B lost at home to Wistaston B.
