RUDHEATH Ladies have won the British Darts Organisation (BDO) Champions Cup for the first time after beating Surrey outfit Raspberries in the final at Manchester.
The Northwich side, representing Cheshire as a reward for winning the Cheshire Super League last season, took the title following a 4-1 win at EventCity.
Winsford trio Andrea Hunt, the team’s captain, Bev Martin and Jane Stubbs were part of the line-up.
They cruised through an initial group stage, conceding a single leg in wins against Johnstown RBL (5-0), Bath (4-1) and Newark (5-0).
A slender 3-2 success against Slake, from County Durham, followed in the quarter finals before they edged Littlehampton Coconuts by the same score in the last four.
They made sure the trophy returned to Middlewich Road after recovering from a slow start to win the head-to-head with Raspberries.
Rudheath lost only once on their way to taking top spot in the Cheshire Super League, winning nine of their 12 matches to finish five points clear of Temple Bar in the table.
