LEOPARDS have made sure they will hang on to their Mid Cheshire Super League crown with two games to spare.

A 7-3 success against Division One title-rivals Victoria leaves them a dozen points clear at the summit – an unassailable lead.

Terry Turner, on his first appearance, won all of his singles matches for the champions.

Tigers saw off Cobras by the same score, with Craig Lee’s unblemished card a highlight, while a double for Tom Beevers boosted the back-markers’ tally.

Bears will finish first in Division Three after a whitewash of Middlewich High left them six points clear of Vikings, who completed their campaign with a 9-1 hammering of Falcons.

Steve Buffey and John Roberts were unbeaten on the night for the section’s runners-up, although Peter Wong’s defeat of Andy Ingleby in a fifth and deciding set prevented a whitewash.

Snakes proved too strong for Kinetics, boosted by Andy Beswick’s hat-trick of wins.

Phil Cheek contributed two to a 7-3 scoreline, while skipper George Berry replied with a double of his own for fifth-placed Kinetics.

In Division Two, Lemmings should finish as runners-up following a 6-4 win against Wolves.

Dave Etchells, who has lost only one game all season, again avoided defeat while Gail Johns won twice.

Captain Mike Price did the same for their opponents.

Valiants beat bottom side Winsford, with Keith O’Brien the star turn in a 7-3 victory.

He was run close by Dave Hazlehurst, against whom he had to win a decider in a contest that went to a fifth set.
